Inder Vashisth
A case of flouting the law by revealing the identity of a toddler has come to light at Delhi Police Headquarters, right under the nose of Commissioner of Police, Satish Golchha.
On September 28th, Central District DCP Nidhin Valsan held a press conference at Police Headquarters regarding the arrest of the kidnappers of a one-and-a-half-year-old child.
Exposed  Identity
DCP Valsan exposed the identity of the child and his parents by presenting them to the the media.
For publicity, DCP Nidhin Valsan had the media take photos and videos of him holding the child in his arms, having the child cut a cake, and so on.
Punishable  Offense-
Revealing the identity of a child victim of a crime is a punishable offense. Some newspapers like Indian Express,Times of India, Nav Bharat Times and some YouTube channels are equally responsible for revealing the child's identity.
History Repeated-
The same case was occurred in the year 2000, when  Ajay Raj Sarma was the CP, Delhi. This journalist was the one who raised questions about the then Central District DCP Muktesh Chandra presenting foreign rape victims to the media at police headquarters in June 2000.
DCP Removed
The then Commissioner Ajay Raj Sharma removed Muktesh Chandra from the post of District Deputy Commissioner of Police. In response to a question asked in Parliament, it was also reported that the DCP had been reprimanded and removed from his post as District DCP.
CP Show the Courage
Now the question is- will CP, Delhi initiate the action against DCP Nidhin Valsan for violating the JJ Act, POSCO Act and presented the victim before the media like an 'item'. In this case the guidelines of the Supreme Court has also been violated.
Would Commissioner Satish Golchha dare to remove a DCP like the late Ajay Raj Sharma, former Delhi Police Commissioner?

Attempts were made to contact Police Commissioner Satish Golchha and Police spokesperson Sanjay Tyagi regarding this matter.
A message was also left in the Commissioner's office. A WhatsApp message was also sent to Police spokesperson Sanjay Tyagi regarding this matter.
